Outreach & Education

The Center for Eating Disorders’ outreach department is available to provide on-site education and prevention activities for community audiences on a variety of topics related to eating disorder awareness and prevention. You can request a presentation for your school, campus, organization or company at any time. Read on to find out additional details about our outreach programs.

Schools – Students, Families and Staff

Our outreach staff is available to provide classroom-based education and prevention workshops for students in an engaging and interactive format.  In accordance with best-practices, presentations for students always focus on the promotion of protective factors including positive body image, normal development and media literacy.  Our team also offers more in-depth, workshops for parents, educators and coaches focused on early warning signs, what to do if you suspect a child has an eating disorder, and how to develop a school/home environment that promotes health and size acceptance.  Examples of presentations are listed below but we can also tailor a workshop to your specific needs.
