ADVENTURES IN SELF-CARE: Everyday strategies for nurturing an imperfect recovery in the real world

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2016 KICK-OFF EVENT

Pre-registration is now closed for this event.  On-site walk-in registration will open at 1:30 pm on Sunday, February 21.  We hope to see you there!

What is self-care? In this interactive presentation, Melissa Fabello will provide personal insight into the mechanics of recovery while exploring ways in which honest, holistic wellness can be cultivated from the inside-out.  Melissa's straight-forward, real-world experience will help audiences of all ages and genders apply concepts of radical self-love to their own understanding of eating disorder recovery.

Melissa A. Fabello, M.Ed. is a body acceptance activist and sexuality scholar based in Philadelphia. She is currently a managing editor of Everyday Feminism, aswell as a doctoral candidate at Widener University. In addition to working on her own eating disorder recovery, Melissa has worked closely with The National Eating Disorders Association, The Representation Project, and Adios Barbie on campaigns related to body image, eating disorders, and media literacy.  You can read more about Melissa and check out some her writing at

Join us each week from 7:00 to 8:30 PM for a recovery-focused support group open to anyone struggling with any type of eating disorder as well as friends, family and support people. This group is FREE and facilitated by a licensed clinician.
